I've been an Asics Gel Kayano wearer for a good 15+ years. Just recently though, I've found the price to be frankly somewhat rude! It's resulted in me wearing older pairs for far longer than they should have been worn. And that ultimately has affected my knees, making them sore.

So I bit the bullet and bought the Kayano's again. And yeah, they're a comfortable fit with that decent amount of gel to ease the compression on the heel.

Not sure I love the colour. As a road runner, these look far too much like gym trainers. Or perhaps for those that only do the Nike 10K. But I'm not a fashionable person, so really don't care about all that!

Overall then... Yeah, if you've got the money, then buy them. If you haven't, then I don't know what to say !!!

Great, supportive trainers. I always buy ASICS for running and whilst the GT series is fine if you’re an overpronator, you really notice the difference in comfort and stability with the kayano. Unfortunately the sizing in the 28’s is noticeably smaller than with previous editions so going up half a size may be worthwhile. I’m finding my normal size makes my toes numb after a little while.

Lower heel back than earlier models

The heel back on version 28 sits way lower than the predecessors (models 22, 23, 25 and 26). I've been getting a black pair of women's Asics Gel-Kayano running shoes every year since 2015 (this is my 6th pair). So obviously I think they are great otherwise!

Disclaimer: this heel issue COULD be because I was sent a EUR size 39 1/2 instead of the usual EUR 40 that I normally get when ordering UK 6.5 from Asics. However, I've been going back and forth between those sizes over the years and this is the first time it's been a problem. I normally need extra insoles for supporting my extreme overpronation, and the shoes barely hug my heels at all then.

I use this product for running that is what one does with running shoes one runs in them. The shoes are light and the shoes are comfortable, most important of all the shoes have good shock absorbance. Thus I am. Pleased with my purchase.
