I have always liked Bellroy, from their wallets to their phone cases.

Always bragged about them and shown them off to other people but in the past few years their quality in both material and design has dropped significantly.

I went from the amazing Elements Zip Pocket to this... and it's quite literally falling apart. (lost my Elements wallet in a house move)
To be honest I did get this wallet wet. You go out and it rains and well the wallet tends to be in your jeans pocket which obviously gets wet.

Normally this would be fine for a premium leather wallet but with this "Card Pocket" has actually ruined my cards and forced me to order replacement cards from my bank and subscriptions.

I ordered the blue variant. All my cards now have a watery blue colour to them which I can only presume is the dye ruining off the leather and because the inside of the wallet is looser than previous models my cards have also rubbed together and scratched each other.

Overall really not happy with the way Bellroy has gone and I'm sad to say I will now be steering clear of their products.

Pros...
- Compact design that fits ALOT in a small space
- Looks good (to begin with)

Cons...
- Cheaply made, considering the cost very disappointed
- Very poor zip
- Odd patina that doesn't quite make sense other premium wallets look nice with a patina... this one does not
- Damages any cards that are stacked together

I've waited a few months before writing tis to see how the wallet held up, and I'm happy to report its as good as the day I received it.

This wallet is exactly what I was looking for. It's a quality leather with a beautiful smell and texture, it's very small (only slightly larger than a credit card is), and it can hold a lot.

I currently have 9 cards, about £8 in pound and 50ps in one of the pouches, a very small swim army knife and £30 in cash. All of this is held in a remarkably small form factor, with barely any budge at all.

Honestly, if you are considering this and reading this review, you must be after a certain style of wallet, small, minimalistic, easy to use, I recommend you just purchase it. Its a great item, and I'll be buying again without a doubt if I ever lose mine.

I bought this and then returned it within half an hour.
It is made really nicely, and a lovely little wallet.
It is just a bit too small for me. It could do with an extra centimetre or so, in length and width.
It was cutting the corner of my cards when using it, and it was really fiddly trying to get items in and out of it. Shame!

I read the reviews, looked at the images, and was excited to receive this wallet from such a well known and established brand. So, I placed an order, and it arrived quickly-good so far.
Upon first use, it is clear that it needs to be just a couple of mm larger, as any bank or credit card gets squeezed in to the wallet, and causes the zipper to get stuck when opening / closing around the cards edges. The leather zipper, after one week, Started to peel at the seems, and looks tatty. The zipper gets stuck, and in one pouch it is so tight, it’s useless, the other pouch is so loose, things fall out as soon as you open the wallet.
As I said, I really wanted to love this little wallet, is would be the perfect solution if it was just a couple of mm larger, and the leather zipper more robust.

Qualität wird schlechter

Ich habe aus dieser Serie nun drei Wallets in den letzten Jahren gekauft. Die Qualität wird leider schlechter. Waren die ersten Modelle noch wasserdicht und outdoorfähig (Leder und Reissverschluss) so wurde dies verändert. Das Leder wurde dünner, der Lederanteil verringert und durch Plastik ersetzt sowie der Reissverschluss durch schlechtere und einfachere Qualität ersetzt.
Das ist wirklich sehr bedauerlich und für mich der Grund künftig nach Alternativen zu suchen.
Denn die Grundidee und die Anfangsqualität waren absolut überzeugend. Schade, dass ich am Anfang nicht gleich mehrere Wallets gekauft habe.
Schade Bellroy ihr wart mal sehr sehr gut. Mit dem Wachstum und der Popularität ging die einst hohe Qualität eines kleinen Sortiments leider verloren. Die Fotos zeigen das erste und das aktuelle Modell.
