Good but WARNING

I love these shoes, they fit amazingly and are so comfortable, I got terrible blisters at first but once you've broken them in they're great.
WARNING - The brown part of the sole came apart from the black bit very quickly and so they broke. Nearly completely broken. Sadly bought not through Dr M. so can't do much. Lasted about 2 months before they started to break, 5 months later and they're very damaged now and NOT due to excessive wear. Be careful!!!

Really, really disappointed.

I pondered on these as work shoes for quite a while as the reviews weren't great but decided to go ahead as my previous Dr M's have always been incredibly comfortable but I could no longer justify being veggie but wearing leather.

The shoes took about three weeks to break in leaving my feet covered with blisters and resulting in my having to buy and fit suede (the irony) heel grips to try and alleviate the pain. By week four they had eventually broken in but then the sole on the left hand shoe separated from the shoe and so were sent back as not being fit for purpose.

Amazon customer services were great, Dr Marten not so much and I will now have to revert to wearing dead flesh to work...

Comfortable, hard wearing and extremely long lasting! (they lasted me more than 7 years)

Very comfy, and they are holding their shape and finish better than the leather versions I have had previously. A wonderful pair of shoes.

Update: Over a year later, and while the rubber sole is pretty smooth now, the vegan uppers are still in great nick. Definitely outlasting the leather version which is usually more than a little scuffed by now.

Update 2: Over three years later and it's finally time to say goodbye to these shoes. The soles have worn down to pretty flat and there are a couple of cracks which let the water in. What I find amazing is that the uppers are still in really good nick!

Update 3: Six years or so later and these are still my daily shoes. I'm reluctantly thinking of replacing them soon as the soles are worn a bit too smooth, but the uppers are still in great nick

Update 4: More than seven years later, I have finally ordered a replacement pair.

As others have said before me, Dr Martens have really gone downhill in a big way! I remember having a pair of D.M boots for years, without showing much in the way of wear, other than the expected creases. I later had a pair of shoes, and the story was pretty much the same.
This is the first pair of DM's I've had for some years now and the soles are USELESS! I say pair, but I've actually had two pairs because I needed the first pair replaced. The sole of the left shoe split at the instep by the heel, and stretched for about 3'. Amazon replaced these without any hassle so that was at least one good thing. However I now have a pair of shoes with the sole of the right shoe split in the same fashion as the left shoe I mentioned earlier, but this time from the front of the shoe.
You can see from the lack of wear on the sole, that these shoes are very nearly new.
Not happy is an understatement. Will be seeking a refund on this one.

I had a car accident as a five-year old child and since then I've broken my foot a couple of times due to walking on unstable ground or inferior quality footware. I owned a pair of Dr Martens about twenty years ago. I had forgotten how superior they are to other shoes. As far as I am concerned there is no better shoe. Since buying them, I've been able to focus on looking at other things wherever I go and I find myself walking with much more confidence. The soles of these shoes are amazing. You feel the quality and technology beneath your feet. That's a gift. And as for the upper part of the shoes, well I have to admit I was reluctant to buy them as I've had so many inferior shoes over the years. Now I refuse to wear any of my other shoes when I go walking on rough terrain or even in the city.
