This book has helped me shift perspective from gotta-try-harder-NOW to a more insightful approach of things I first need to understand and then to weed out things that are probably a bad idea for me to mess with right now (eg in regard to thyroid issues). The book has given me many loving reassurances of things that are truly important when it comes to health, and things that might not be - while providing massive research summaries and actually comparing different perspectives. A refreshing, respectful, and empowering read!

Fantastisk bok som talar till dig personligen, inget bullshit om den bästa dieten eller tekniken. Snarare att bygga en bättre relation din kropp och vad dina mål egentligen är. För att sedan hitta en väg som fungerar för dig. Rekommenderas starkt!

It's so refreshing to finally have a book that is purely a resource of scientifically backed information about weight/fat loss.
There is no sales pitch, there's no shaming the reader. It's everything you need to know to make the best decisions for yourself.
I first came across Ben on Instagram and his free resources there are amazing - informative, unbiased and so entertaining. This book is a compilation of everything he has learned in over a decade in the industry, it's a gold mine. He fully takes into account that every person is an individual, and everyone has different goals for different reasons.
If you want the support of a personal trainer that feels like a good friend then this is the only book you'd need.
He is so passionate about this book, I really hope it's a success for him.

Been following Ben on social media for years and was so excited for his book - and I'm glad to say it did not disappoint! Seriously, do not waste your money on fad diet books. If you really want to understand the actual science behind fat loss, buy this one book and you'll be set. Even if weight loss has never been your intention, this book is very educational and interesting, discussing numerous topics around nutrition, body image and exercise. The effort and attention to detail that Ben has put into this project is unreal and if every person read this book, maybe there would be some real shifts in the industry away from all the bulls*** out there. The content Ben has produced online for free over the years is immense and I just hope loads of people buy this book so he can be rewarded for his hard work over the last 3 years! Well done!!

I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so after reading this book because it is simply amazing in cutting through all the misinformation and deliberately convoluted diet info out there and it is written in such a way that everybody can easily access it.
You know how every time you pick up a book about a new diet method it inevitably starts off by explaining how it is in fact not a diet yet then peruses numerous restrictions and all of this either without any real explanation or with some complicated jargon that is hard to decipher? Well, this isn’t it. No method here, just simple and well explained science based facts that give you the tools to tackle the jungle of misinformation out there and find you own path towards healthy weight management. It’s genius that in its generality lies the most personalised approach I have ever come across regarding diets and it is precisely the flexibility of this personalised method that ensures the continuous implementation of weight management tools necessary for sustainable success. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, don’t hesitate, get it!

Literally for everyone!

I follow Ben (author) on social media and mostly purchased his book as I expected it to be a light hearted and amusing, yet well informed read that would simply bring joy to my little Nutrition (MSc) student heart in my downtime.
Safe to say that it has actually already surpassed my expectations and I'm not even halfway through!
It reads as if it is somewhere between a "how to" book, a university dissertation, and the rant of a fed up fitness professional; but in all the right ways.
The books format and tone means it could be easily used to help:
anyone at any point in a fitness journey;
people struggling with their relationship with fitness, food, self image (etc);
those who simply want to know more;
and even students in any discipline relating to food, health, and fitness!
Also everything is well referenced so you know that he didn't just pull any of the statistics out of his ar$e

I only got my copy today and I haven’t put it down! For anyone who has come across Ben Carpenter on social media, you will know he is honest, brutally so, in an industry that uses your own insecurities to grab your attention and your money. This book stays true to that ethos of honesty and not pedalling easy fixes and magic pills. Including copious amounts of empirical evidence and citations, this is far from a diet book, it’s more of a how to style tool guide mixed with a “kiss and tell” quality about a billion dollar industry that has little interest in actually helping people make healthier choices. For anyone wanting something honestly helpful, this is a good place to look.
