I wanted these for tie-dye, some to go into a washing machine and some to go into a dye-bath, that is a large bucket of dye, where the shirts undergo less agitation. This is because one of my carefully knotted designs had been untied by the motion of the washing machine drum. (I tied it tightly and pinned it with very small safety pins, the next time.)
The shirts take the dye very well and the white is bright enough to provide a good contrast, esp. against the solid dye colour. However, we also know they work with multi-colour bottle-dye techniques.
The patterns really stand out and the shirts fit correctly and look good. My only regret was not using an appropriate water softener, such as the older type of Calgon, because the bucket-dyed shirts,in particular, feel quite rough - as our local water is very hard. We don't seem to be able to get Fruit of the Loom locally, anymore, so it is great to be able to buy these on Amazon.
I was looking for some inexpensive plain tee shirts just for work. Material is on the thicker side so they were great at handling a daily shift but as a result, comfort suffers a little bit. Pretty sure mine shrunk a little in the wash so be careful on that front. Great work shirts though for the price.
