I only have two complaints about this kind of headset

1. I can no longer use my Sony ANC headphones. Using the headset to watch films on a plane or in a car or in a way that doesn't disturb anyone around me is no longer possible. My in ear bluetooth have too much latency to be usable and ANC on these things isn't as good.

2. You can no longer comfortably rest your head back on a headrest because it's too bulky.

Otherwise though, this is a great replacement strap. Very comfortable and well balanced. The extra battery is larger than the inbuilt one, so youll get at least 4-4.5 hours play time before charging.

I've heard complaints about the battery always charging the headset and has no power off button. While I sort of agree, it is trivial to just pull out the battery charging cable from the headset.

En riktigt bra strap. Fungerar i stort som förväntat och som den ska. Viktfördelningen och rörligheten är riktigt bra. Lättare att reglera för att få en bra skärpa för ögonen.
Borde ha följt med en mjukare ansiktsdel bara, för det kan stundom sitta lite hårt åt och trycka mot ansiktet.

Si comme moi vous avez un acheté un caque Oculus Quest 2, vous vous rendrez rapidement compte que la sangle d’origine est tout sauf confortable …

Au moment d’acheter une sangle plus confortable, 3 choix principaux s’offrent à vous presque toutes au même prix …
Le modèle Élite, le modèle BoboVR et le modèle Kiwi …

Premier réflexe en ce qui me concerne, j’ai pris le modèle élite car au même prix, autant prendre le modèle d’origine … qui pourrait mieux connaître son casque que la compagnie qui les fabrique ?

Erreur … le modèle Élite est bien … mais pas si confortable que ça … pas de mousse derrière et sur la sangle pour optimiser le confort. Et après quelques dizaines de minutes, on commence à le sentir.

Contrairement au modèle de Kiwi qui lui est juste parfait :
- la sangle du crâne est en mousse idéale pour le confort au niveau du crâne
- a l’arrière du crâne, là encore une belle mousse pour optimiser le confort.
- par contre, le système de serrage entre le kiwi et le modèle élite est identique même si celui d’origine semble plus fiable sur le long terme
- Autre petit détail, l’éloignement du casque à sa partie arrière est plus grande sur le kiwi ce qui permet de l’enfiler plus facilement surtout quand on change de tête pour le faire essayer à d’autres personnes.

En résumé, j’ai largement préféré le modèle kiwi au modèle élite - le kiwi est en effet plus pratique et nettement plus confortable, surtout après plusieurs heures !

J’essaierai de compléter ma review avec le boboVR qui a également l’air excellent et d’une conception différente.

Firstly, let me say that on the face of it this (like other Kiwi products) is very good quality and is a great choice for anyone looking for an alternative to the extortionate elite strap.

However, and I hope my case isn't a reflection of many, the strap has broken after a little over 3wks of use. To put this into perspective, I use the Quest 2 infrequently - roughly 5 a week give or take. So I can't say that the fault is due to excessive use.

Specifically, the fault is in the release/tightening mechanism at the back of the headset. After tightening, as usual when putting the headset on, the mechanism has completely locked itself in place and so now cannot be released. The only way to get it on off is by undoing the side clips and taking the whole strap off which isn't exactly a viable option.

The long and short of it is, this should have been and probably is a great product but I've simply received something that is defective and is now practically useless meaning the experience has unfortunately not been a positive one.

UPDATE - Kiwi reached out to me directly on this product and offered a full replacement sent directly to me. Upon receipt, everything worked as expected and I've been using the product without a single issue. Let me say this - the products Kiwi put out are to a great standard however, what's more impressive is the customer service. Absolutely top notch.

I bought this because I had 2 main problems with the Quest 2. I found it very uncomfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes, and the battery life only lasted around 2.5 hours.

The Kiwi design battery strap has genuinely been game changing. The strap is much easier to adjust than the regular Meta strap. All adjustments are done via a velcro strap on the top, and a ratcheting wheel on the back. This makes it very easy to quickly readjust. The top strap and the rear interface are both padded with leather and are very soft, making them comfortable to wear even for a few hours. The strap also has a neat feature where you can flip up the VR headset. This is really useful for anyone who wears glasses in VR, as it allows you to flip the headset up out of the way, put on your glasses and then flip the headset down back over them.

With regards to battery life, I played around 2.5 hours of VRChat, over Oculus Air Link using the Steam client version. When I stopped, the headset was still on 100% battery, and around half of the strap's battery pack had been depleted, so I'd estimate you get around 4 hours or so out of the strap alone (plus the normal 2.5 hours out of the headset). It's a huge increase in battery life and makes VR a much more convenient experience.

The other benefit of having the battery strap is that it adds extra weight to the back of your head. With the Meta standard strap, all of the weight is over the front of your face, but the Kiwi design strap distributes this weight much more evenly, which again increases the comfort.

The only downsides I can think of are very minor:
- The headset won't fit in the Quest 2 box anymore, you can buy another box to solve this
- The strap is definitely more bulky and does weigh more but I found I got used to this quickly
- There doesn't seem to be a way of checking the strap battery once you're in VR (you can only see the headset battery).

Overall though, while expensive this does make a huge difference to comfort and play time in VR and I'd really recommend it to anyone struggling with the standard Quest 2 strap.

Fits like a glove I cannot believe I have put up with the standard strap not knowing that there was more comfort to be found elsewhere this product has changed my experience with the Oculus Quest 2 and is made by overall experience 10 times better just the added immersion to having a comfy strap-on your head makes all the difference very sturdy and made of top quality materials my favourite part of the headstrap is the cushioned strap that goes over the top of the head as before the stockstrap used to give me migraines

I would recommend this to all Oculus users and find it would be even amazing if Oculus itself would team up and make this the strap that is sold with the Oculus Quest 2 as default what an amazing job you have done with this product kiwi designs you have outdone yourself I'll be looking forward to trying more of your products in the near future....

Kiwi Design Elite Strap
Straps for VR are a very personal thing, what some people may find comfortable, others not so much. However, I bought this for my Oculus 2 since the stock strap seems no more than some knicker elastic that has to be over tightened to provide any support. Most agree that the stock strap is one of the first things you need or should replace, this is where online video reviews come in.
This strap has a pretty universal loved rating, it's strong, light and above all the comfort level is amazing. It's a replacement for the official elite strap since there has bee. 'issues' with them Kiwi made their own, and its a thing of beauty.
Easy to use, just clips onto the standard arms of the Oculus and off you go. Once in place and tightened there is zero movement even on my big bonce it just hugs your head in a memory foam cloud.
It could be cheaper sure, but you only really get what you pay for so as far as value for money goes, I'm more than happy with the price. The only negative is the adjustment dial sticks out a little making movie watching a little uncomfortable but for gaming, working out I don't think you'll find a better strap unless you want a halo style then is this obviously isn't for you.

In short.... If you need a strap (and if you're still using stock you probably do) then buy this one, it's comfy and so easy to use you can't help but join the masses and love it.
