This book is more expansive, reflective and insightful than his previous one. Can't Hurt Me was a tour de force and is one of the top five influential books I have read. It did not contain new lessons for me (though his story is truly outstanding in its rarity) but acted as more fuel at a crucial stage in my neurosurgical training. Never Finished is written clearly contain material he was not sanctioned to (by his mother and his own self) to include in Can't Hurt Me. There are too many examples to list of his constant self awareness, in depth reflections, ownership of his individual mistakes, ability to absorb the senseless hate we can all attract in life and transform it into rock fuel for success and ultimately his pursuit to become a better human being. His medium is running and physical endurance. Mine is neurosurgery and academia. Whatever yours is one must find it, examine it, continually update and improve on it and re-invest in yourself, your friends and your families so they through your example and vice versa can do better. People negatively critiquing this book I can almost guarantee have a) never achieved b) never sweated the towel through perspiration of hard graft c) console themselves they have made it d) lack a drive to self improve because it is too hard. Be aware who you listen to.

They say your 2nd book will never be as good as your first.... This is very close!

Amazing, but also sad to read Goggins is getting older and his body is breaking down and he is very aware of it. MOAB 240 wow!

Rekon he is good for a few more ultras yet and this is definitely not the last of him. Still more capable than 99% of the population. I love the maturity that Goggins has gained with age.
