A great pair of boots. They do the job and wont let you down.

As I reach a certain stage in life (trust me I'm going somewhere with this) I'm beginning to realise the things I like, a strong cup of coffee first thing in the morning, a nice cold German beer to name a few. I also realise what I do not like. If like me you've ever bought something that says it's waterproof only to find out the hard way that it is not, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I was in the market for a new pair of boots and being the being the big brand snob that I am, I was looking at the much more expensive pairs here. I came across these purely by accident and the amount of positive reviews almost made me suspicious. I've had these boots for close to two months now and been caught in heavy rain and all sorts of lovely Winter/Spring weather a few times and I can say with absolute certainty that these boots are the real deal, they are excellent. I was a little bit annoyed when the first pair arrived because I ordered my usual size 12 but they were too small so I had to fork out a tenner to return them and then order a size up, but the refund was handled very quickly and with no hassle. When the size 13 arrived I knew they were quality and they would not let me down. These are a great pair of boots and I doubt they will ever let me down. I will definitely buy another pair.

Shoeless

These boots are, sadly, useless. They are advertised as being waterproof but just after four weeks, right after the return window, my left foot was starting to become wet on the walks.

Two weeks later the cause was found. The sole on the left boot is becoming adrift from the upper. I have only used these boots for light walking with the dog, on average walking about five miles a day, across farm tracks, paths and, sometimes, tarmac surfaces.

The right boot hasn't leaked yet, but it's clear that this boot's sole is starting to separate from the upper in much the same way.

Some other reviewers have mentioned that they are continually re-tightening the boot laces as the structure of the boot shifts during walking and I am finding the same. This I can live with as it's a cheaper boot but what I can't is the fact that the boots have been badly made.

I have contacted the seller to request a refund and I will report back.

As far as this review goes: until they fix this quality issue then these boots cannot be recommended at all as they are clearly Not Fit For Purpose.

So comfortable I ordered a second pair.

My boots wore out so I ordered these as a cheap replacement until I found time to go shopping for a decent pair. I was very pleasantly surprised just how good they would turn out.

Not 100% waterproof but very few boots of this price are, except wellingtons but who wants to walk in them? They keep my feet dry walking through wet grass, shallow puddles and muddy fields and I've walked daily (8-10 miles) in them now for over a week and they are getting more comfortable every day with no sign of the seams coming apart. I polish them after every walk and they are getting better at repelling water as well as looking good. I find the fit to be wider than other cheaper boots I've bought in the past which, for me, is good as it means I can wear slightly thicker walking socks. The spare boot laces included in the purchase was very welcome as it shows the makers understand the needs of walkers.

I'm so happy with these boots that I've just ordered another pair as a spare and have cancelled my shopping trip.

TOTAL RUBBISH - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Received quickly but not surprised, they probably couldn't wait to offload this rubbish.

Straight from the box, the boots are splitting where the leather meets the sole and an attempt has been made to cover this up by spreading the glue onto the leather. Impossible to be waterproof in this condition and probably wouldn't last more than a couple of days if worn..

Looks like the leather has been stretched too much over the shaping last during manufacture, causing it to split.

Extremely poor quality for this price - not even worth a fiver. Would give zero stars if I could. I cannot understand how this junk can be sold on Amazon, nor where the previous good reviews have come from. This is worth investigating by Amazon!

I would recommend staying well clear of these boots - they are very poorly made.

These Boots Are Made For (Hill) Walking

Bought a pair of this for Munro bagging. At this price I wasn't expecting perfection but I was looking for quality. The boot itself is waterproof unless you dunk your entire foot in the burn (yep, I did). I've only had them a few weeks but so far they've held up. They feel very light on my feet compared to army and reinforced work boots, I've never been able to afford £200 "proper" walking boots. Or, rather, I've always something better to spend £200 on that a pair of boots. Either way it means I can't compare against very expensive kit. So for these, the soles have some flex, but if you try to "twist" the soles they're quite rigid. This means they're good for hillwalking (they support your sole as you ascend diagonally up a hill) but won't be, in theory, as comfortable as very flexible shoes or boots for long-distance flat walking. That said I've found them very comfortable. I bought the size 12 and found them well-sized, able to take a good thick pair of socks without being too snug or loose. They come with spare laces and come with insoles fitted, you could replace the insoles with thinner or thicker versions depending on the fit of the boot to your foot.

At this price I'll be picking another pair up. Great value.
