Alfred Sisley, (1839 - 29 janvier 1899), est un artiste peintre et graveur britannique, rattaché au mouvement impressionniste, qui vécut et travailla principalement en France.
Sisley séjourna longtemps dans la boucle de la Seine, et y réalisa plus de tableaux que tout autre peintre impressionniste.
Il fonda la société anonyme des artistes peintres, sculpteurs et graveurs en 1874 avec Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas et Berthe Morisot, et participa aux trois premières des huit expositions impressionnistes. La Première se déroula dans les locaux du photographe Nadar en 1874, la Deuxième en 1876 et à la troisième en 1877.
Son succès est essentiellement posthume.

Alfred Sisley, (1839 - January 29, 1899), was a British painter and printmaker, attached to the Impressionist movement, who lived and worked mainly in France.
Sisley stayed for a long time in the loop of the Seine, where he produced more paintings than any other Impressionist painter.
He founded the Société Anonyme des Artistes Peintres, Sculpteurs et Graveurs in 1874 with Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas and Berthe Morisot, and participated in the first three of eight Impressionist exhibitions. The first was held in the offices of the photographer Nadar in 1874, the second in 1876 and the third in 1877.
Her success is essentially posthumous.
