Zippo mit leichten Schwächen

Also was soll man über ein Zippo Feuerzeug groß schreiben... jeder der sich eins kauft, weiß denke ich auf was er sich einlässt... aber ein paar Worte möchte ich dennoch schreiben.

1. Das Feuerzeug sieht soweit aus als ob es ein Original ist, wobei ich dazu sagen muss, dass ich mir vor vielen Jahren, zu D-Mark Zeiten, als es noch keine Chinakopien gab, und das Feuerzeug definitv noch in den USA hergestellt wurde, ein Zippo gekauft habe... damit kann weder die Oberflächenqualität noch die Mechanik des "Neuen" von Amazon mithalten. Im Gegensatz zum alten hat das neue Zippo eine rauere Oberfläche, an der man sogar leicht hängen bleibt beim drüberstreichen. Die Oberfläche wirkt deswegen nicht so hochwertig wie beim alten Zippo.

2. Wer das Zippo als Alltagsfeuerzeug verwenden möchte (so naiv war ich auch mal), und es in der Hosentasche transportiert, sollte sich eine Flasche Feuerzeugbenzin mitnehmen. Im Zippo verdampft es nämlich dermaßen schnell, dass man relativ schnell ohne Feuerquelle dasteht. Aus dem Grund habe ich mir einen Gaseinsatz für das Zippo gekauft, und probiere nun ob es länger hält.

Für den Preis kann man denke ich schon zuschlagen, d.h. ich bereue den Kauf nicht, wollte aber als "alter" Mann mal wieder anmerken dass früher "alles" besser war ;-)

LE briquet à essence mythique dont la réputation n’est plus à faire !

Sans aucune surprise, produit d’excellente facture, c’est bien le vrai, l’original, fabriqué aux US, et à un prix plus que raisonnable qui plus est.

C’est le genre de produit duquel on est sur qu’il va tenir toute une vie, ce qui est de plus en plus rare aujourd’hui. Il est vraiment increvable.

De plus, la marque propose des consommables (mèches, silex, cotton, essence) d’excellente qualité également.

Bref, si vous cherchez un briquet à essence c’est LE produit à acheter :)

I always wanted an actual Zippo after using what I thought were poor copies, or at least I thought.

The lighter arrived in a condition I would described as used, not filled, but you could tell it had been opened due to dirt on the case of the lighter and the leaflet had its corners beant back.

After removing the inner insert, I noticed the lid was learning to one side and the hinge was very loose.

Next thing I wasn't happy about was the thickness of the metal, very thin to say the least. It was also very light.

I have a Poundland lighter which is a similar design and the build quality is better!

I initially thought it wasn't genuine, but after doing some research, carefully looking at photos and weighing it (55g), it appeared real.

I also saw identical lighters in the US Wallmart store that cost 6 dollars, what a rip off!

So like many items, you are just buying a brand logo, not a quality product made in the US.

I don't imagine a lighter like this lasting more than a year before the hidge on the lid failing, or indeed the other parts.

I got a full refund though without having to return due to incorrect return postal options for Northern Ireland UK (no Hermes drop-off locations) . I've not even filled it since, it'll just sit there in its box in the cupboard.

Rubbish.

GET READY TO BE AN ENGINEER. this is not straight forward .. you need to have fuel.. you need pliers.. you need patience... you need good eyesight.. you need a lot. once it gets going there is no better and also the satisfaction of ignition is 50 times better for the whole experience so why people think a bic is acceptable is amazing and comes out as desperate. this is the reward of the experience to create a flame with history and precision design in mind. i dont see it going wrong with good skilled maintenance.

Zippo lighters are well renowned for their build quality and performance. I do not smoke but I enjoy carrying a lighter as part of my everyday carry kit. Something that comes in handy in a variety of situations, for instance, when working with paracord to seal cut ends. I purchased this lighter in brushed chrome (less finger prints to deal with), though, other more fancy designs are available to suite everyone's taste. I just prefer the plain simple look. This was around the middle of March 2020, at a cost of £13.28, direct from Amazon to avoid fakes.

As expected, the Zippo is well built and will take any amount of knocks and bangs in my pocket, not much else to comment on here. The only thing I dislike about them is that the fuel tends to disappear so quickly, this is due to it not being a completely sealed unit (if you are using lighter fluid). I am glad Zippo and other 3rd parties have started to do custom inserts, specifically butane (which I use) over the last few years that last a heck of a lot longer.
