This is it, the moment has come when Twelve becomes Thirteen.

This is one of a kind within the collection of Doctor Who stories, as it's probably the most significant story among a rare few in Doctor Who history. Why? Purely because this is the finite, definitive story which changes the show's history forever. That may sound barmy when you think about it, but it's the truth. This is where we meet the first OFFICIAL female Doctor, you can't really call The Doctor a timelord anymore because now, SHE is The Doctor, she is a timelady.. Whether you like it or not. In her own sense, the last moments of this episode/DVD see Jodie Whittaker takeover as her own original Doctor, because when your children, followed by your grandchildren watch this in many years to come, they'll probably call her "the original female Doctor", as really, Jodie is the first Doctor of her own gender and she marks what intends to be the most challenging, yet most exciting change in Doctor Who history, opening up the next few series and years of adventure that we all should be excited about. This episode provides a beautiful concept as we look to the future.

But before all that, the special features of this DVD, followed with the episode itself, really give you that sense of nostalgia and a warming heart as you acknowledge it really is a time for change. Peter Capaldi's final story as The Twelfth Doctor was emotionally driven with such beauty in it's concept and script and it truly did leave me in tears. What I truly love about this episode is it doesn't just end with Peter's somber and beautiful farewell, it brings you back to the first time our Doctor went through this process of change. This being acted upon by David Bradley - what a wonderfully, talented and well chosen actor to play The First Doctor in place of William Hartnell. The exciting thing to remember about David is that he technically has played William Hartnell before in the Doctor Who biopic "An Adventure in Space and Time" - only now to play THE DOCTOR who he played the ACTOR of before, it's all marvelous!

Peter Capaldi's era as The Doctor is truly well summed up in this story, never did I expect to see some certain friends from his time as The Doctor. I think of all Christmas specials, this one is most certainly my favorite from Capaldi's era as there's so much involved in one episode. Should I live and breathe to see Doctor Who's 100th anniversary, this episode and adventure will certainly spoken about and raised as one of the most memorable ones there is to exist and that's all practically thanks to Peter Capaldi, Steven Moffat, and the rest of the cast and crew involved.

I couldn't ask to own a more fitting story in my collection none other than "Twice Upon A Time". I certainly felt a sense of emotion as I opened the package from my delivery today, knowing that I owned a finite piece of history of a BBC Television, science fiction show. I'm proud of this purchase, and I will say for certain that it's worth the buy and worth owning such magnificence.

Peter Capaldi's last Episode is a Story about regeneration, friendship, change and memories. Its a well played and written Episode. It is great to see the First Doctor again :) David Bradley is doing a fantastic Job, giving the Doctor his own touch. He never tries to copy or impersonate William Hartnell but still, you look at him and you know "He is the Doctor"
To be fair, there are two points... The writers made the First Doctor a bit "to sexist" they tried to keep the 60's soooo much, where you can feel moments in wich you notice "Lets put a anti women joke here" "Oh we should do somthing with, a woman has to clean" in my mind, not the best choise.
And the regeneration of 12, please stop "blowing up the TARDIS during regeneration" It gets odd after a while.
We got callbacks, companions and a real historical, human miracle at the end. The recreation of the "Tenth Planet" parts is well done and looks great.
Spoilers!!
Even some Whovians worried about Peters Regenerationspeech, when he tells the next Doctor "Children can hear your name!" For those of you who dont know, the words during a regeneration like "You were fantastic .... and so was I" "I dont want to go" "I will allways remember, when the Doctor was me" or "Children can hear your name!" are done by the actors themself, because they wanted to say it. Back to Peters words, he said it on a Convention, to a lil Boy who asked him, if there is any way to know his name.
Not many people know about it, but it shows what a lovley person Peter is.
The first moment of Jodie Whitaker as the Doctor is nice to watch, the cliffhanger, oh boy!! But, after 2000years, she still can't fly the TARDIS :P

A good final story for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor with the bonus of seeing the first Doctor as well . Both about to regenerate and both reluctant to do so . I thought I would regenerate into some one younger says the first doctor . I am younger comes the reply . Brilliant interaction and a naked Dalek with alliens who collect people on the point of death .

It’s doctor who what else!!!! I watched this as it aired on BBC 1 at Christmas And sobbed like a baby as I’m sure many others did - for those who haven’t seen it this is peter capaldi’s final tenture as the twelfth doctor and he gives a grandish spectacle of a final performance perhaps not quite on the scale of matt smith’s exit but still very funny at times, heartwarming, heart-breaking and some vulnerable scenes that leave you compensating what new direction the show will travel into next and ofc by the very end of this episode we are greeted with the very first ever female doctor, in the reigns of (Jodie Whittaker) from ITV’s Broadchurch series and the more recent bbc medical thriller, trust me!! I look forward to seeing where miss Whittaker takes the new era of the show and I found this episode a very fitting sendoff not only for capaldi’s twelfth but For his companions throughout the era who joined him on his journey Pearl mackie, Jenna Coleman and matt Lucas all get nicely wrapped send offs in twice upon a time if you want to see your favourite characters one last time, you need this on Blu ray and dvd!!! ❤️🙏

A really good impressive Christmas Special with a good final chapter for the 12th Dr. It's has humour, scares & good characters & a good emotional regeneration. Not a lot of extras but we get a good behind the scenes & a decent look back @the 12th Dr's adventures. All in all a really good Christmas special story & extras on this blu ray. A good last story for the 12th Dr.
