Heavy polycotton trouser that look just great. The sizing was like my usual trousers - no problem there. The legs are roomy enough for movement without being baggy. HOWEVER, unless you have a rather small backside, you will find that as soon as you bend the trousers pull down at the back. Carhartt says they "sit below the waist". They're actually cut straight across at the waist, whereas most trousers are cut higher at the back than the front of the waist (to allow for the wearer's backside). They're OK for sitting and standing, but they're not really for a full range of activities. I think the clue is in the Carhartt description - good for climbing into the cab. Maybe they're designed to sit under the spare tyre at the back (of the truck presumably). I found them too uncomfortable, and had to send them back. Loved the trousers, couldn't get on with the fit. Hugely disappointing.
I bought 2 pairs of these both in the same size. One was very tight in the waist, long on the inseam and the crotch had tons of room. Made it difficult to climb onto things. I guess they are to be worn above the waist, but come on! Who wears their pants to they cut into your cheeks! The second pair fit more snug in the crotch and the material was more stretchy. I bought a 3rd pair but they are the Rugged Flex relaxed canvas work pant. Those fit very well and are fairly stretchy, but run short. I will probably buy another pair of those to see if they run more true in the length. Dont buy these unless you like running your belt through 20 belt loops and know how to keister.
Wanted a khaki but didn’t have the right size and fit originally so this was the only color available in my corrected size. Wasn’t really impressed. Just not met expectations. Probably won’t try these again. Like wearing cardboard around your legs until after several washings.
Well-constructed pants as you’d expect from Carhartt, but the color description in this Amazon listing is off. What’s listed as “dark khaki” is actually light khaki, significantly lighter than in the photo. Still, from what I can tell so far they’ll last a long time.
